Conversation and updates will appear here for tours to Italy.

Our adventure into the art of Italian living has already started. Tour members are invited to participate in our weekly conference call and ask questions, get acquainted with one another and learn how to prepare for this tour.

Here is a brief summary of logistics:

Transportation from Rome to Campobasso:
There is a very comfortable bus/coach service – Molise Trasporti http://www.molisetrasporti.it/ from Stazione Tuscolana (another major Roman railway station close to Termini) that runs several times a day from Rome to Campobasso. You will probably arrive in the afternoon of Monday 9/8. We will wait for you in Campobasso and by van we will reach Sepino.
On arrival:
You will be received at the agriturismo La Taverna and lead to your rooms. After a brief rest, we will take a walk and acquaint ourselves with the village of Sepino and surroundings and then we will enjoy a reception/dinner with some of my friends and family members.
In the mornings:
We will savor a varied and abundant breakfast during which we will make the plans for the day. I will propose to you a short Italian class in which we will learn a few elements of language and vocabulary relating to the activity of the day.
After breakfast:
Having chosen the activity of the day (please see www.ornellacucinaitaliana.com – Adventure in Italian living/tour details), we will reach our destination by van. Along the way we will stop at markets to shop. Lunches will be either pic nics, in trattorie or at La Taverna. Afternoons we will take a siesta and then we will proceed with our evening activities:
cooking classes/conversation/walks/dinners/field trips.

Weather:
less predictable than in California. September is a beautiful month still warm and sunny but occasional rains are possible and, as a consequence, the temperature might drop temporarily. Bring a portable umbrella and some warm clothing.

Recommendations:
In preparation of our trip my recommendation is: watch lots of Italian movies, eat lots of Italian food, drink lots of Italian wine, listen to lots of Italian music, read lots of Italian books and speak Italian whenever possible! In other words, I recommend immersing yourselves in Italian mode. D’accordo?
